Jerry Angrave

Customer Experience Director

Jerry is founder and managing director of Empathyce, a Customer Experience consultancy and professional development firm. Jerry has a corporate background in senior CX roles including at Lloyds Banking Group. As a consultant, Jerry now helps organisations understand what it’s like to be one of their customers, what it should be like and how to nurture a more customer-centric culture.
He’s a Certified Customer Experience Professional (CCXP) and is one of a handful of CCXPs globally to be authorised by the Customer Experience Professionals’ Association to coach others for that accreditation.
Jerry has lived and worked in New Zealand as well as the UK and in sectors including education, aviation, legal services and SaaS companies. He has also been Chair of the Board of Governors at a school for children with special needs.

 

Leanne Ehren

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Manager

Leanne is an experienced communications professional leading regional and county-wide teams in the emergency services sector before becoming a consultant. Her area of specialism is crisis and major incident communications following her experience in the blue light sector. After one of her teams responded to three major incidents in six months, managing crisis, emergency planning and looking after the health and wellbeing of her staff has become something she is passionate about.

Graham Francis

Consultant

After 19 years of continuous service, Graham is soon to leave Havering Sixth Form College (HSFC) where he is currently employed as the Director of Continuous Improvement.
With the introduction of GDPR Graham has been supporting a number of institutions in becoming compliant with the requirements of the legislation. He is the Data Protection Officer for HSFC and Havering College and acts as a consultant to Regent’s University.
Graham has developed a range of skills during his time in Further Education and has a demonstrated history of working at all levels of the organisation being skilled in Educational Technology, IT Service Management and Project Management.
Graham is a lifelong learner graduating from the University of East London with a BSc in IT in Education in 2000 and later a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education, from the University of Greenwich.
In 2013 he completed an NVQ Level 4 in Supply Chain Management and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. More recently Graham became a qualified Coach completing the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring.
On leaving HSFC Graham hopes to focus more on supporting organisation in implementing GDPR as well as providing Developmental Coaching.

Roisin Kirby

Marketing Consultant

Roisin leads Refresh Marketing, a consultancy specialising in marketing strategy and planning. She’s passionate about projects with a social cause including education, health and wellbeing, and anything that seeks to improve the lives of our communities.Having survived the Dot Com Bubble, Roisin has been an advocate of digital marketing throughout her career. She believes in no-nonsense actionable marketing that delivers real value.
A Chartered Marketer and Fellow of the CIM, she is also a part-time lecturer in Marketing at Nottingham Trent University.

Karen O’Connor

Head of Marketing

Karen O’Connor is Head of Marketing at Capital City College Group (CCCG), London’s largest college group, comprised of three colleges: the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CONEL); Westminster Kingsway and City & Islington. She has over 18 years’ experience in a range of marketing disciplines from SEO, digital and online marketing to branding, content creation and campaign management. With a passion to promote the importance of further education in terms of the contribution it makes economically and socially, her values match those of CCCG, namely the power of FE in ‘Transforming lives through exceptional education and training.’
Prior to joining CCCG, she was Head of Marketing at CONEL for 8 years and at Waltham Forest College for two. She worked in PR and internal communications for the University of East London (UEL). Also, a range of London local authorities, including Hammersmith and Fulham where she specialised in video and AV production, Waltham Forest where she edited the council’s free local paper and at Brent, working as a Communications Officer for the council’s Education, Arts and Libraries Department.
Karen attended UEL and London Metropolitan University, graduating with Masters’ degrees with Merit in Creative Writing and Communications Management.

Hayden Taylor

Managing Director

Hayden Taylor is the Managing Director of Unloc, a youth-led social enterprise with a mission statement to support and empower young people to be changemakers. Unloc works with over 100 schools and colleges on student voice strategy and programming, including youth leadership initiatives. The organisation has a keen interest in helping student governors to be successful in their roles, having run student governor training programmes for the past three years.

Hayden, now 22, has been a governor of Portsmouth College for four years, and is on the board of several schools and charities. In addition, Hayden is a passionate campaigner for youth leadership, undertaking roles including as a One Young World Ambassador for the UK and a Jo Cox Memorial Scholar for the U.S Embassy.

Rachel Till

Founder

Rachel is founder and strategic marketing and communications consultant at Extend PR and Marketing, and The Marketing Leaders Club. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and an accredited digital marketing professional with the Digital Marketing Institute.
Rachel started her career in financial services, before moving to large marketing consultancies working on big budget campaigns. She then took on in-house roles in the education sector, for which her and her team received a number of awards.
Since founding her consultancy almost 8 years ago, she has worked on branding, design, PR, crisis management, copywriting and digital marketing campaigns for more than a dozen colleges and universities, as well as dentists, architects, authors and one of the world’s biggest trampoline park brands.
Rachel is a mum-of-two and passionate advocate for flexible working and ongoing professional development, who also owns her own organic skincare brand, Walk Mill Botanics. Her products are sold online and in retail outlets across the UK, including The National Trust, Chelsea Physic Gardens and TK Maxx.

Ben Verinder

Managing Director

Ben is managing director of Chalkstream, an agency delivering reputation and market research, management consultancy and public relations services to the education sector.

Ben has worked with college marketing and communications teams across the UK since 2003. He is a CIPR Founding Chartered Practitioner and lead chartered status assessor, a judge on several education awards and a regular speaker on communication, reputation and market research in education.

Ben is also a contributor to a range of public relations books, a published poet and author of the biography of adventurer Mary Burkett. His specialism is psychology in public relations practice and, more broadly, change management in education.
