This joint AoC and ETF Conference has been designed to support the role of the FE Governance Professional. This practical event will provide you with the opportunity to review and discuss your current working practices and explore how you can get the best out of them. You will have the chance to gain key legal and policy updates, share good practice and build your network of Governance Professionals from across the country.

Frances Wadsworth

Deputy FE Commissioner, DfE

Frances was appointed as Deputy FE Commissioner in 2018 to support the work of the FE Commissioner, Richard Atkins, and his team. Previously Frances had a total of thirteen years’ experience serving as principal and CEO  in two  colleges. This included a significant turnaround and new build at East Surrey College, followed by seven years leading improvements at Croydon College.

Initially Frances worked in retail management and subsequently for the British Council at the British Embassy, Washington DC. In addition Frances has attended INSEAD and Harvard management courses. In total Frances has worked in education for over thirty years. Frances is Vice Chair of Ofqual Board and Chair of their Audit Committee. She is on the appointment panel for Thames Valley Advisory for Magistrates and is an education advisor for the Surrey charity, GASP.

Sue Frost

Clerk to the Corporation, Heart of Worcestershire College

Sue is Clerk to the Corporation at Heart of Worcestershire College.   She is a Chartered Accountant and holds the ICSA Certificate in FE Governance. Sue regularly joins with colleagues in exchanging updates and best practice on the National Clerks’ Network.
