There are more and more young people with autism being educated in mainstream schools and colleges. This workshop is aimed at mainstream environments and focusses on learners who have High Functioning Autism.
This workshop is designed to provide staff who work in mainstream educational settings with a better understanding of autism and a toolkit of strategies that they can use to support learners with autism to meet their educational professional. It will also provide strategies to support with behavior that can challenge.
- Understand what Autistic Spectrum conditions are and how they impact on individuals and their behaviour.
- Be able to identify the impact that Autism has on a person
- Be able to reduce the impact that autism has on learning
- Be able to identify key principles of positive behaviour management
Better understanding of autism for staff which leads to better outcomes for learners.
