Digitally Built Britain is becoming a reality, how prepared are your construction learners? AoC and Tideway, builders of one of London’s largest construction projects – the Thames sewer tunnel – are partnering to offer free CPD training for the FE sector.
This workshop is designed to provide construction providers with a working knowledge of the BIM Learning Outcomes Framework and enable providers to align and integrate BIM into their current construction courses. This is a vital strategy of the current and future construction industry where learners will need to be equipped in BIM.
Objectives of the day
This workshop provides up to date understanding of BIM, how it affects industry standards and how to integrate into construction programmes. Outcomes include:
- What is BIM Level 2 Learning Outcomes Framework and why we have it.
- Digital built Britain
- Tideway implementation of BIM
- How BIM will affect construction qualifications and learners going into construction industries
Who should attend?
- Construction curriculum managers and programme leaders
- Construction lecturers, teachers and assessors
All staff booking on the programme will be expected to complete a pre-programme questionnaire, take part in the face-to-face training, apply the learning in the workplace, keep a learning log and participate in post evaluative activities to help assess the impact of the programme.
The Thames Tideway Tunnel
The Thames Tideway Tunnel is a major new sewer, urgently needed to protect the tidal River Thames from pollution. Tideway is building the 25km tunnel, from west to east London, to tackle the problem of overflows from the capital’s Victorian sewers for at least the next 100 years, and enable the UK to meet European environmental standards.
The Thames Tideway Tunnel will inspire young people to get involved in careers in the engineering and construction industry. The project will be one of the biggest employers in London, offering jobs that boast a world-class reputation on the largest tunnelling project ever completed in the UK
